Hello,
My name is Wintermute and this is Dumbr. Today we talk about another major Holiday celebrated in Korea called Pepero Day.
Pepero Day, much like Pepero, is a stolen idea from Japan. Japan first came out with a delicious snack called pocky, it comes in many flavors and varieties. Korea liked it and decided to make their own brand and call it Pepero. Korea doesn’t really have a Valentine’s Day, so to honor loved ones and those you friend zoned the idea of Pepero Day emerged. The day is November 11th, or 11 11, which looks like 4 pepero sticks pointing up. Pocky day is on the same day.
The best part about this day is that you, the teacher, with your 40 something students per class, will get boxes and boxes of pepero. If they like you a lot you may get a basket. If they hate you, you won’t get anything. And you don’t have to buy them pepero because well, that’s creepy. So it’s the one holiday where you don’t have to spend money and still get a huge return.
Game: two lovers stick one end of the pepero in their mouths, and in a "Lady and the Tramp" style slowly eat the piece of pepero until lips are locked. D'aww.
I’m going to stop with the Holidays for now, and start talking about teaching again. I enjoy it more and I think you guys too. If you have a particular subject/topic you would like me to talk about then be sure to leave comments and questions below. Tomorrow Haikus!
Your Teacher,
Wintermute
